Maryhill Festival of Speed

Sitting in Coyote Coffee, a cafe in Goldendale, Washington a real nice town up off the Columbia River. I've had the apple turnover suggested by the gentleman at the counter who wasn't too sure about making a cappuchino and so I saved him the trouble by getting a regular coffee since I don't want an inexpert hand to make my fancy coffee that gives me the jolt I need. Been sitting here for a couple of hours in the AC and listening to the ladies talking and meeting up for chatter and sugared sweets and the men talking and reuniting over talk that tends toward the overly articulate as pretty much everything has already been said by and to each other so now it's down to just repeating that which everyone already knows. My son and I have come here as Jack likes to ride his skateboard downhill fast in his now native Colorado and asked if I'd like to go on a road trip with him to the festival which is one of the premiere events of his chosen sport.

Getting it Down

This blog is going to be written while I do phone work for a non-profit fund/awareness raising organization in Portland Oregon. I have discovered that I can write copious amounts of material with my right hand while waiting for the phone to pick up and for me to begin my "rap" to the prospective donor.

Life here is a challenge, the days seemingly long and dreary now that winter has closed in. There's a way forward, I've just got to find it.
